Get into the habit of wiping your basin and bath after every use. Cleaning around the sink, bath, taps and plughole regularly will stop the build up of limescale deposits. For hard to reach areas such as behind the taps, use an old toothbrush to prevent limescale.

  • Through the looking glass

    Through the looking glass

Keep your bathroom mirrors and shower glass crystal clear, spray with LimeLite and wipe off. To leave them extra shiny use a paper towel to dry them - you’ll be amazed by the results!

  • Give your shower some power

    Give your shower some power

Limescale can build up in your showerhead and you may find your shower doesn’t feel as powerful as it used to. Use the LimeLite spray to attack tricky hard to reach showerheads, this will clear the limescale and put some power back in your shower.

Living With Limescale

To reduce limescale build up on all appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers, that are plumbed into hard water areas, will have specific maintenance instructions. Please refer to the manufacturers guidelines or instruction manual.
Clean around sinks, basins, baths and taps regularly with LimeLite, to stop the build up of scale deposits.
Use the foaming nozzle of LimeLite Descaler Spray to get right up into taps, showerheads and any other areas that conventional sprays might miss.
Look for the manufacturers' guidelines on flushing your hot water heater, as performing this task will keep the heater running efficiently.
Make sure your heating system is regularly serviced.
Consider using a magnetic conditioner water softner; however be aware that chemically softened water should not be used as drinking water.
Consider getting a portable water filter product such as Brita Water filter or kettle, as this will improve the taste of your water and eliminate scum floating on the surface as well as get rid of the deposits at the bottom of hot drinks.
Lower the temperature setting of your water heater to 130 degrees (55 degrees centigrade) as the higher the temperature, the more mineral deposits will occur.
For further information, contact your local water company; they will be listed in your local business guide under "Water". Alternatively contact the Drinking Water Inspectorate at www.dwi.defra.gov.uk who can provide information and advice on quality of drinking water.
